Post-Care Instructions
These post-care instructions are very important for pigment retention. Please plan to follow them for 7-10 days after each of your sessions—and mindfully choose your appointment dates based on your ability to do so. You will be asked to sign a form indicating your compliance, which will directly affect how well you heal and how great your results will be. There are no exceptions. On day 11 after your session, your life can go back to normal.

You are unable to immerse your brows, lips, or eyeliner in water. That means no swimming. It is fine to shower, but you will need to wash your face first in the sink, so you are not facing the water while in the shower. Wash your face below the eyes, then use a washcloth from your eyes up. Keep a towel close to shower to pat brows, lips, or eyes dry during shower. In the shower, lean your head far back and cover the treated area with your hand when rinsing your hair. Avoid hot baths, steamy showers, saunas, jacuzzis, etc. These will all increase your body temperature and cause steam, moisture, and humidity to touch your face.
-
You should refrain from being outdoors in the sun or humidity. We understand you have to walk your dog or maybe even walk to work. (That's ok!) We just don't want you at the beach, in the pool, or on a boat—not even with a hat on and in the shade.
-
You must avoid sweating, which means no workouts of any type. No barre, yoga, speed walking, weightlifting, low impact exercises, or high impact exercises… nothing. Sweat is salt and will dissolve the pigment. Even if you think you are not sweating, you likely are. You do not have to see sweat to be sweating. Sweat glands are under the skin in the same layer where we deposit the pigment. So if your heart rate and body temperature are up, you are likely sweating and just cannot see it.
-
Do not apply harsh skincare, lotion, makeup, or makeup remover on or around the treated area. For brow and eyeliner clients, you can apply below your eyes, but do not apply anything above that line. You will have open wounds, and any products applied around the area can increase the risk of infection or cause the pigment to change colors.
-
Avoid sleeping on your face and side. We will give you instructions on how to do this. Sleeping on your face or side will rub off the pigment.
-
Absolutely do not pick, scratch, or peel at the treated area, even if scabs develop.
-
Avoid sunbathing and tanning beds.
-
Steer clear of facial treatments, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasions, and laser treatments near the treated area. Whenever you use facial products on your face, keep them away from the treated area, and remember they can migrate. Chemical peels and laser treatments should never be done around the treated area. Ask your technician to cover your brows, lips, or eyes to protect your pigment.
-
Spending a lot of time in the sun or using chemicals on your face can cause premature fading. It is advised to always protect your brows, lips, or eyeliner with sunscreen. Remember to apply and reapply.
-
For eyeliner clients, if you wear contact lenses, it is recommended to avoid wearing them for a few days after the procedure. Additionally, avoid using eye drops unless prescribed by a healthcare professional. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, consult your technician or optometrist.
